Music Production & Recording Services In Hamilton & The GTA
Welcome to Bikebox, a new project by me - Sean Bienhaus! It is my long term goal to open my own physical recording studio space and I figured it was time to spin my recording and production work off into something separate and new. My focus is on providing alternative and supportive solutions to the ways artists record music in the modern age, focusing on the Toronto and Hamilton area.
ABOUT THE STUDIO
“Uh what’s with the bike thing?” - Well first I loved how it sounded, but there’s a few reasons:
First I love bikes and all things to do with cities. Part of my goal in eventually having a physical space is to make it communal, accessible and a positive force for the community it’s located in. I want to help not just make music but foster a more vibrant community both in and out of music.
A “Bike Box” is a part of cycling infrastructure which allows cyclists to go in front of or away from cars in order to safely move through an intersection. It’s those little green boxes with a bike on them you’ll see at intersections when you’re driving. In the same way cycling is a different approach and experience for transportation, I am hoping to offer recording services that offer different approaches for musicians.
As of right now, Bikebox is purely a name for the services offered by myself, but will evolve and take different forms as time goes on. Having already started to have some success with my “Meet You There” program which aims to bring recording services directly to band’s homes and practice spaces, I have lots of other plans to fill gaps I see in the market and industry. I am trying to really think differently, so choosing a symbol of something that challenges the conventional way of doing something (driving vs cycling) seems fitting!

I’ll come and record your band in the place you’re most comfortable in - your homes and practice spaces. Home recordings can sound as professional as a studio space with the right care and support, and I’m hoping to offer an affordable option to bands that can’t afford expensive studio time but want to bring their songs to life!

Today musicians have two options when it comes to recording – spend your money on expensive studio time, or buy some gear and try to figure it out on your own. These are two extremes which leaves a lot of folks out, and this service aims to occupy the space in between. Taking the comfort of your home or practice space and combining it with affordable yet quality recordings. We want to make recording more comfortable and accessible.

Where do you and your band write your songs? Your homes and practice spaces of course! So why not bring the studio to the songs rather than bringing the songs to the studio? With some care and quality equipment, we can take your room and make a truly quality recording in it. We bring in all the recording gear required and keep it easy and simple! As this is an in-person service it is only offered in the following areas - Hamilton, Toronto, Halton, Niagara, Waterloo Region, Peel, Brant, Haldimand County, Guelph, and London.

This service includes all processes required to make a release-ready recording, including tracking, editing, mixing and mastering, with extra production services available upon request. This is designed to be easy, comfortable and all-inclusive. Recording your songs can be stressful and overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be!
Remote Recording
Services
I’ll help bring your song to life completely remotely! This is for artists who can do some recording at home but want help with additional production, tracking, mixing and mastering!

A range of services are available based on the song, style and needs of the artist. I can fully produce and arrange your song or just mix the produced track for you! Projects are priced based on the level of involvement, with full productions being the most expensive, and mixing and mastering being cheaper.

Although the recording process is remote, this is a very engaged process. It is so important for me to understand and appreciate your vision in order to create the best final product possible! The service will involve several production calls and offer many revisions to ensure the song turns out exactly how you picture!

Want to produce your own music? I get it! Through this process I also offer some educational options to help teach you more about music production as we work on the song, empowering you to be more involved and achieve more in your future recordings. I’ll show techniques, explain music and sound fundamentals, and answer all of your questions about music! No gatekeeping here!

Hi! My Name Is Sean.
I’m an artist, performer and producer based out of Hamilton, Ontario! I’ve been playing music for close to a decade, and following my graduation from the Audio Production & Engineering program at Metalworks Institute in 2023, I have worked full time in music. I create all my own songs, perform 15-20 shows a month as a solo acoustic act, and do a variety of recording and production work for other artists as well!
First and foremost, I’m a musician, and my approach as a producer and recording engineer is to think as creatively as I do technically, focusing on how things feel as much as how they sound. I love to take an artist’s idea and help them turn it into a complete and full production. Ultimately it is my goal to best serve each and every song, and reach the artist’s total artistic vision!
I mostly work in Pro Tools and Logic Pro, but have experience with Ableton and Reason as well. I sing, play guitar, bass, piano, synth, saxophone and more! I am highly familiar with music theory, recording techniques, and have a wealth of general music knowledge I can bring to your music! I love music so much, and I can’t wait to hear yours!
